Create a shortcut to a website on your desktop

How to create a shortcut on your desktop.

• Navigate to your desktop on your laptop or desktop computer.

• Right click on your desktop and hover over "New"

• Click "Shortcut"

• Type the URL to the website (e.g. www.vinu.edu) and click next.
  • NOTE: You must include the "www"

• Enter a name for the shortcut and click "Finish"

The shortcut will now be located on the desktop, where you initially right clicked.

Please note: The shortcut will open with whatever browser is set as default. (e.g. Google Chrome)
