As of July 1, 2026, Vincennes University is no longer using the Proctorio tool. Instead, we have transitioned to Honorlock for proctoring exams in Blackboard. This guide contains the steps to replace Proctorio with Honorlock in your course.
Remove the Proctorio extension from your browser
Locate the Proctorio extension in the extensions area of your browser, right click on it and then choose “Remove from Chrome”.

If you do not see the Proctorio extension, you can verify if it is still installed by clicking on the “puzzle piece” icon and choosing the “Manage extensions” option.

If you see the extension listed there, you can click the “Remove” button. If you do not see it listed, then you no longer have the Proctorio extension installed and can proceed.

Remove the Secure Exam Proctor tool from your Blackboard Course
Find the Secure Exam Proctor tool in your course and delete it.

Add Honorlock Exam List tool from Content Market by clicking the + symbol

For ease of use, It is recommended to drag the Honorlock Exam List to the top of your course Content page

**Ensure that the Honorlock Exam Tool is set to “Visible to students”.
Convert Exam from Proctorio to Honorlock
Edit Proctorio Exam

On the settings panel, scroll down to the “Assessment Security” section. If it displays “access code required”, click the trash can icon to delete.
**DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP AS IT IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE CONVERTED TEST TO OPEN CORRECTLY**

If prompted, click “Continue” to confirm:

Click “Configure proctoring settings” under the “Proctored assessment” section.

On that page, click the “Turn on Proctoring” switch. You will see a message stating that you are about to enable Honorlock proctoring, and that once you save the exam, you’ll be taken to the Honorlock configuration page. Click the Save button to confirm.

You will be returned to the Assessment Settings panel. Scroll down to the bottom, and if there is any Proctorio text in the Description box, remove it. Once done, click the “Save” button.

Saving the exam will open the Honorlock Exam List page, and your exam will appear. It will show that the exam needs to be enabled in Honorlock. Click the “Enable” button to the right of the exam.

The Honorlock configuration page will open for the exam. The default settings have been set by Honorlock and should be fine to accept in most cases. Feel free to explore all of the available options and enable/disable any that would apply to your specific exam. This page will provide you with an in-depth explanation of the Honorlock settings:

It is also highly recommended that students taking exams that utilize Honorlock create an independent Chrome profile that contains only the Honorlock extension. This helps to prevent technical issues that can be caused by conflicting extensions or cached data. Our Knowledge base contains an article on how they can set that up as well:
