How to connect a laptop to a docking station with USB-C.

  • First locate the USB Cable on the table, the connector looks like a symmetrical-oval-shape and should be coming from the back of the docking station to the front of the desk. This cable is also reversible. That means there is no “wrong way” to plug it in.

  • Next, Make sure the docking station is powered on by the blue indicator light. Then, find the USB-C port on your laptop and plug in the cable we mentioned in the last step.

  • After you plug in the USB-C cable turn on your laptop or open the lid. In just a few seconds you should hear the windows hardware sound and the monitor should auto power on and mirror your laptop screen. The mouse and keyboard will also start to power on.
    • Note: If your laptop supports charging over USB-C it should start charging as well.

If you would like to make these displays separate (not duplicated), follow these instructions:

  • On the laptop, hit the Windows Key and the letter "P" at the same time. A new window should pop up. Select "Extend"

You have now successfully connected a laptop to a docking station and setup dual monitors for an extra productive work space!
